Why Grow Your Own Potatoes?
Potatoes are easy – you don’t have to be an expert! No rocket science involved (unless of course you grow the variety “Rocket”) only soil, food (nutrients & fertiliser) water, sunshine, and of course a classified seed potato, plus 100-150 days and they are a very healthy food! Britain’s safest food - no cholesterol, vitamin C and a great source of carbohydrates!

Taste…
You’ll notice the difference in taste, quality and satisfaction, as you prepare your own produce. There’s nothing quite like putting a meal on the table, knowing that you grew it! For those of us who don’t have green fingers we have starter sets such as: grow packs, windowsill propagators, herb boxes and mushroom kits. We love giving advice, so just ask which one is right for you!
If space is an issue, we have many fruit and vegetable varieties that grow quite happily in pots and grow sacks: anything from potatoes to salad, with peppers, carrots and soft fruits, too
Perhaps you’re trying to encourage your family to take part? Why not start them off by growing from seed, which is always fascinating – particularly for young ones. Cress seeds are really easy and take up very little space on the window ledge. When you’re ready for the next stage, broad beans in jam jars show the germination process and can then be popped into a pot by the back door
