DOTT. PIERONI PAOLO
I am a Mountain Guide of the Aosta Valley, president of Interguide Cooperative. A Doctor in chemistry, I left the nobile Pharmacy profession to dedicate my life to the mountains, that I love in a huge way. Mountains for me is an excuse to travel, the curiosity pushes me all the time to new lands and new routes with new people. I consider my clients the varied part of every work day, infact they are the subjects that give the big value to our excursions, as easy or as difficult as it may be, my next climb of Mont Blanc ( one of hundreds) it will be unique and no less important than all the others, because of the clients. Climbing for me is the most important aspect of mountaineering, it is a slow journey in between my own emotions, moving on vertical land and this makes the world bigger than we ever think. To climb means to go very slowly, skiing and snowboarding on the contrary is speed and a dynamic feeling. Deep powder and steep slopes, make the perfect combination to move fast and go far in the winter, 10 times more than the summer.
The happiness that I have in going in the mountains gives me the motivation to pass on my knowledge about them, I consider teaching a pleasure and a must, to improve the Alpine Culture and help improve the security of the mountaineers. 28 years of climbing in the mountains has produced a long list of names and grades that would give you the idea of my standard, but they don’t tell you about what I have experienced or about the people with whom I have shared those moments, this for me is the most valuable part of my climbing.
If you choose to become a part of these many men and women you to will have the chance to understand completely my way of life in the mountains. But my overall benefit is to see your happy smiles at the top of that chosen mountain.
This is my desire to know the world and overall the people are the real excuse to travel throughout the mountains.
The day I lose the curiosity I quit!
